  • Introducing another of our amazing WorldSkills Australia representatives from the Mid Coast...apprentice cabinet maker Joushua Ferguson-Sketchley. 21-year-old Joshua is currently employed by local company Eastland Kitchens Coffs Harbour and placed second at the regional competition. Having a time limit in a national competition with a live audience really puts the pressure on, but it’s a challenge that the 20-year-old apprentice cabinet maker is up for. “I really think the national competition will be a great opportunity, but I’m pretty nervous though,” he said. Once he finishes his apprenticeship Joshua will be weighing up his future options and may consider going to university to become an Industrial Tech teacher. Joshua is one of nineteen North Coast TAFE students who will all be representing the Mid Coast & Northern Rivers regions at the National Competition in Melbourne from 6-8 October. Great work Joshua...we're behind you all of the way! #nctafe #tafensw #worldskills #coffsharbour #cabinetmaking

  • Here in Student Central we are preparing for Wear it Purple Day, which is being held in the main quad here at CHEC from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 30th August. Wear it Purple wants young people everywhere to know that they have the right to be proud of who they are! Sex, sexuality or gender identity does not change this. So wear purple tomorrow if you agree.
